Longest shots in the 6-700 yard range.

I will take the digital camera as well.
I am debating on taking one of my Swiss 7.5x55's......

Keep 'em in the furry part...[:D]
I have 550 rounds for the 17 Rem loaded and 380 for the 223.
Instead, I went to the range today to clean a 10x12 shed and install shelving that I made for the shed. It was HOT, but a nice breeze kept it BEARable!
Now everything has a place and room to grow.
Son had an out of town football game tonight.....
Jason's prairie dog, taken with a 17HMR at 138 yards. Jason's wears a size 13 shoe. The dog is wider than his shoe as well.
Jason's headshot, retrieval method, and what a 17 HMR will do.
My 17 Remington (25 gr Hornady HP over H4895) took care of this dog, at 383 yards.
223 Savage using 55 gr Nosler BT's over Accurate 2230C at 400 yards.
Different dog, same bullet and powder. 405 yards....WHOMP!
Last pic, one small fragment of the BT was observed shining in the sun.
I did shoot my new rifle today...New England single shot in 204 Ruger.
Early indications...VERY good round. Wind came up (gusts to 20-25 mph).
Shooting distances were under 200 yards of confirmed kills. I did launch some Hornady factory loads with 40 gr bullets. Drop at 500 yards is the same as a 223....in the wind.
Will give a better 204/NEF report when I get to the range and back out to the dogs.
I did shoot one dog at 155 yards with a 32 grain Hornady factory load...absolute destruction with that round is an understatement. Hit in the chest between the front feet while the dog was standing and the round gutted the dog....almost completely.
