Hello You did not state what type of shooting you are doing . I shoot Bulls-Eye and the 230 Grain bullet is what we shoot in the Ball gun. For most other types of shooting the use of lighter weight bulles is the norm both lead and jacketed . The old stand-by is bulls-eye powder but some newer shooters like Clay's and Vitovorie 320. My suggestion is to get a reloading manual . as far as a Crimp I would go with a taper crimp to about.469 this will help to cure any feed problems and to get uniform roll crimps need the cases to all be OAL the same I hate trimming cases . The 230 grain bullet needs to be loaded to about 820 fps to get good groups at 50 Yards If you need any brass Email me 34 times to Camp Perry.

I agree with taper crimp and dimensions. I load 5.3 gr of 231 and for more velocity, 8.2 gr of AA5.

I LOVE 6.0 grains of Unique lit by a Federal primer pushing a 230 FMJ or cast bullet. For a cleaner load I have found that 5.0 of 231 is a good shooter.

My standard practice load is 5 grains of Bullseye with a 230 grain FMJ. For some reason, that load burns a lot cleaner than most other Bullseye loads I have tried.

Winchers cases, Rainier 200 grain flatnose bullet, 3.5 grains of Hodgdon's Clays and Remington primer. Unbelievably clean powder and cycles without fail.
