using different primers

If a manual calls for a reminton 7 1/2 primer how much difference would it make if you used wsr primers or fed. 205 primers? How much would you need to cut back on the loads?

    Free advice is worth just what you pay for it.
    My advice is to go back to the starting loads and work
    back up to a good performer, watching for signs of trouble.

    csjs1194,

    Unfortunately, there isn't a conversion table or factor that can be used when you switch primers. There are too many variables that apply to reloading which prevents the conversions. Primers vary by brisance and powder lots vary by production or rather the burn rate as it is produced in a lot number.

    Chant the mantra:

    Start low and work your load up slowly watching for signs of pressure. That's all I've ever done.

    Best.
