Need info: old MEC 600 JR. 410 Loader

texshootertexshooter Member Posts: 1,002 ✭✭✭✭
I have reloaded for nearly 30 years, and have loaded many different metallic and shot shells, Except .410.

Yesterday, I bought a like-new 600 Jr. 410 loader, and according to the MEC site, this is a pre-1982 version.

My question is: the charge bar is marked 410ga.2. Since this appears
as a 1/2 oz ? load, am I correct in assuming this bar is fixed for a certain load of powder and shot? The bar does not have re-movable bushings?

Any info would be appreciated.

Is one of the holes countersunk? My bars all have one straight hole (shot marked on the bar) and one hole that is countersunk (powder)just a bit to hold a bushing. If the hole is not countersunck to hold the lip of a bushing then I would venture to say your bar doesn't use bushings. My Mec 600jr is from the mid to late 80's. Hope this helps.

    The MEC #2 410 bar is for a 1/2 ounce load using 15 grains of Hercules 2400 in a 2 1/2" case.
