Hello all,
Since this particular rule change affects us so much I felt it needed posting here.
In essence what is being proposed is that small arms ammunition and POWDER AND PRIMERS OF ALL TYPES ARE GOING TO BE RECLASSIFIED UNDER THIS PROPOSED RULE TO BE CONSIDERED EXPLOSIVES. I'm sure you understand that the Hazmat fee will go through the roof at this declaration. It is intended to further cover employees who handle small arms ammunition and primers and powder. However, it doesn't really change anything on their side...mostly just our side. Read this site: http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table

and comment if you will according to how you feel about it.
Thanks for your time, I'm posting this on GD as well

Here is the important information so everyone can respond to this proposed rule change. Read the information and go to the website to write your response:
Respond on this website: http://www.regulations.gov then choose option 4, select DOCUMENT ID, then type in OSHA-2007-0032-0001. When the document title comes up, go to the right side of the screen and click on COMMENTS ADD / DUE BY 7/12/07.

Best.
I think we have to use the same techniques that we have used in the past to stop legislation that we disagree with or find harmful to our sports and freedoms.
I listed the way to respond to the rule change by using the links and following the directions.
Contact your state Congress people and your state Representative to register your complaints about this being back door rules changes by an organization that should have nothing to do with this. This is similar to the times that the CDC has attempted to influence lawmakers with false reporting of data and statistics, sticking their nose into things that were none of their business.
If you go back to my post there is a link to another set of posts that have other suggestions but you need to use the links and read the posts.
Best.
