headstamp difference

Have a boatload of .38 SPL brass. Some headstamps say +P and +P+. Any difference between this and standard .38 SPL ? Should I segregate it?

I don't think there is any difference, as I have bought remanufactured Ultramax ammo in .38 special, which had a mix of .38 special, +p, and +p+ stamped brass. I recall weighing them and didn't see a difference. I think it just has to do with the powder charge in them when loaded.

Some brands are beefed up for the heavier loads, some are just marked to help keep them separate. I guess you could weigh some brass on your powder scale to see which was the thickest.

Do you think it would be helpful to segregate it for someone who loads +P?

I would think it would be.

It only designates how they were loaded to at the factory IOW no difference in the brass.
