I am going to attempt to handload reproduce as close as possible Hormady .308 110 gr TAP for practice/plinking and save the factory stuff for home defense. It's used in a M1A SOCOM.
Is the TAP bullet Hornady's .308 110 gr. V-Max? I don't see any other 110 gr polymer tip listed on Hornady's website. I know the powder is a trade secret low flash. Does anyone have any load data to try to reproduce this as a handload?
Thanks.

As far as making an approximatation of the Hornady TAP, you could use the 110 grain V-Max with 48 grains of Varget, 47.8 grains of Benchmark, 49 grains of IMR-4320, 48.6 grains of H335, or 48 grains of IMR-4064. Any of those should get you close to the advertised velocity of the Hornady TAP ammo.
Remember the police have a duty to protect the public, not the individual.
Thanks for the load data info.
I keep that ammo strictly to my bolt guns.
There are frangible bullets available to the public:

Reloading suggestions are on the respective sites.
Best.
