45 Schofields in taurus 450

Picked up some Schofield cases at the last gun show to try in my Taurus 450 (45 colt). Preliminary results look promissing but I need to get my hands on a chrono to check velocity. Since the 450 has a short cylinder I figured it would be easier to load heavy bullets in the shorter case. Tried 200 XTPs but can't get them to shoot worth a damn. Went to 250s cast and jacketed and accuracy appears to be better than the same shot with standard colt cases. Am thinking about stuffing in some 300 gr XTPs but haven't seen any data for schofield loads that heavy. Tried a handfull of 230 gr but wasn't impressed. Looks like the gun might have a sweet spot for bullets in the 250 gr range. Since this is a carry gun I don't see the need for or want rip snorting loads the colt is capable of. Of the advantages I've already noticed are... less powder,Easier loading, easier ejection and better accuracy. Still under consideration is if the pressure increase (over the same charge in a colt case) has a good or bad effect though it is appearing to be good.
