a question that came to mind while lying in bed this morning....\
Can you use the same shells to reload shot as you would a slug??

    I just started reloading shotguns shells I was wondering what a good load is for trap using 2 3/4 Winchester AA loading with ether Blue dot or unqie. Thanks and im pretty new so bear with me[:D]

    have you tryed using Clays? It burns alot cleaner than some of the other powders.

    I dont have any recipies for the blue dot or unique though. You may try the reloaders handbook.

    oh and what size and how much shot are you going to be using?

    I do have the reloading handbook, but i wanted to know what your favorites are. Im using 7 1/2 or 9 shot.

    If you're shooting trap,the 9's are way too light.they are generally used for skeet where the clays are much closer...or informal trap with 'home throwers'.
    the 7 1/2's will do much better for ya.

    Here's my recipe:

    AA hull
    17.8 gr Titewad
    1 1/8 oz Windjammer

    Works just fine with #8's. Some guys buy Fiocchi's to get 8.5 shot, which they claim is better. Others say a full choke of 9's is the best. I can't get on birds fast enough to hit with 9's, but whatever works.

    125,I've used blue dot and unique before but only in my ounce and a quarter hunting loads,I also like using Clays powder for my trap loads,it's very clean burning and works great.just my two cents,Bob.

    Just an update for you guys, Im now using AA huals and AA wads with 7 1/2 shot with unique.
