6.5-06 loads

EwelkerEwelker Member Posts: 46 ✭✭
I recently purchased a 6.5-06 rifle built on a model 70 action. The barrel has a 1 in 8 twist. Does any one have some loads that have worked well for them. I have the sierra maunual but it only covers their bullets. The rifle will be used for target shooting and possibly hog hunting. Tanks for your help.

I have the "Ackley Improved" version of that chambering in a 1:8 twist barrel as well. You have purchased a fine caliber. I suggest the 140gr class of pills +/-. I will tell you that providing you don't have an unusualy short barrel, then RL22 and H4832SC are the only 2 powders you need to worry about. Start with the parent load data, and work up from 1-1.5gr under max watching for pressure signs.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
