die interchangibility

mdmoseleymdmoseley Member Posts: 25 ✭✭
I just bought a lee press and a rcbs press at an estate sell. Are the dies interchangable between presses or will I have to buy dies for each? Thanks, Matt

    Matt,

Assuming the presses are modern vintage, the dies from any manufacturer should work fine in both presses. Some of the early presses had special requirements but that problem went away along time ago. I have had good luck with both Lee and RCBS dies. I have not used any other manufacturer's dies but haven't heard any negative about anyone's dies.

Matt; modern presses use standard 7/8 X 14 threaded die bodies. I too have all manufacturers dies. I have grown to favor Redding for some reason but all of them work fine.
