PRIV Brass reloading

MBKMBK Member Posts: 2,918 ✭✭✭
I shoot a lot of Priv Partizan which I get from Grafs. I find it accurate and consistent. It is what most folks use on a 7.5 Swiss, and they make Wolf Gold.

I just dropped some 308 at my local commercial reloader, and he could not make the brass work. He said the primers were military, and that the holes were wrong for inserting new rifle primers.

Has anybody here had experience with reloading PRIV?

Some PRVI brass with the NNY headstamp is in fact Berdan primed. They used the same stamp for some military brass. Usually it has a red primer sealant whereas the reloadable has a green sealant.

Your going to find a lot of "euro" brass is berdan primed. Used to be easy to spot this stuff case's looked like crap. Best advice I can offer: be specific about what you want when buying ammo particularly online. I've drooled over great deals on 45 and 9mm ammo only to see the fine print state: Brass case, berdan primed.[8D]
