Was the US WW II steel cased .45 ammo coated with anything like the modern Wolf ammo is?

    had to pull out a box,42 head stamp, doesn't appear to have any coating. head stamp is E C 42. may be someone in general discussion would be able to give abetter answer.

    nope, its naked as a jay bird. I shot thousands of rounds of it and even reloaded the cases. Folks said it could not be done but I did it and shot them for years.
