45/70 velocity from 22 or 18.5 barrel?

How much velocity is gained/lossed out a 18.5 or 22 inch barrel? I'm looking at a new Marlin 1895 and can't decide if I should go with the 22 or the 18.5 incher.

I doubt that you would loose, or gain more than 75-100 FPS between the two
    barrel length's.............

Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

I think big bores are less sensitive to velocity loss per inch too. I've experimented with several, knowing we would be using a 22 inch barrel. We started at 26 inches and cut an inch at a time till we reached 22. Fired about 50 rounds at each barrel length and the very slight drop would suprise you. In a 416 I did we didn't lose 10fps.
