308 norma mag

I'm loading 70 grains of 4350 with a 180 grain hornady sp. Anyone tried any other loads that work for them?... I'm using a pre 64 model 70.

A friend of mine uses a 30/338, which with regard to loads is virtually identical to the 308 Norma. He also uses 70 gr 4350 but with Nosler Partitions. He has found that 4831 provides a little more accuracy, but at about 50 fps less velocity. Last I knew he was working up some loads with Hercules aka Alliant Reloader 19; I haven't heard the specifics, but seems he was considering switching to it, so it must have performed well.

I would try RL22 or imr7828 if you can find data. their slower burn rates should give a higher load density and faster MV.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
    Got Balistics?

got a great 5 shot group with the load less than 3/4" @ 100 yards...
Not bad for a shotgunner... This gun is a keeper!! Good for me, bad for 4 legged furry critters!!!!!
