    lawdog44,

The funny thing about this cartridge is that as long as it's been around, it's still hard to find good information that uses currently available powders.

I had to do some digging in some long past notes and scratch my head to remember what I had and where it was hiding.

This is an article about the .264 Thor which is about the same cartridge. The difference is small compared to the case volume.

    http://kailuacustomguns.com/articles/264Thor.htm

Then you could do a search using the name 6.5 x 300 Weatherby Wright Hoyer.

A current powder suitable for this size case and 140 gr. Sierra MatchKings is VihtaVuori 24N41. You can start at about 79.0 gr. and work up from there slowly watching for signs of pressure.

That's the best that I can do right now.

I have shot against only 1 of them. The owner said he would NOT rechamber in that caliber. Now, if you want a hunting rifle that will flat out smoke them with great penetration at long range, that chambering will get it done. They do suffer from short barrel life so be aware of that.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
