Well I finally did it.
I went ahead and loaded some reduced loads for my sons .284 Winchester.
I used the info from the Hodgdons website and loaded an array of 120 HP's, 130 SPBT's, and some 162 grain SPBT's, all using H4895 powder.
I must admit I was more nervous about pulling the trigger on those reduced loads than I ever have been with "hot" loads, I have just never done it before.
Was very surprised with the good accuracy and really mild recoil. My son will enjoy shooting this rifle.
To any of you out there that have a youngster that is shy of recoil go to the Hodgdons website and try there youth loads using H4895, you will be doing your kids a real favor!
