9mm target/clays

geeguygeeguy Member Posts: 1,047
Looking for a target load (for PPC style) using Clays powder and lead type bullet (would consider FMJ).

9mm - shot thru Beretta 92 FS. I currently use Clays for 38 spec and 45 ACP, so I would like to stay with this if possible. 115-124 grain bullet wt. range would be nice, but whatever works and can be purchased, I don't mold my own.

Thanks

only load i have done with clays in 9mm is 130 grain rnl with 3.0 clays = average of 911 fps {122pf}, i have some with 3.2 but have not cronographed it yet

    load for 125 3.5 max 3.7
    115 3.7 max 3.9

i use clays {regular not universal} for .45 and .38/.357 myself, i have a book load of data on those i have made myself if you need it

thanks 1911A1. I'll do it the old fashion way and try several bullets and loads. I was just hoping that with how popular the Beretta is someone would have the "perfect" load and I could work +-.1 grain to fine tune. I hadn't considered the 130 gr bullet, I'll add this to my list.

Currently I use 2.4 grains with 148 HBWC for .38 spec and 4.1 grains with 200 SWC for the .45 for Bullseye loads. I'll keep your offer in mind.

    Again, thanks for the response.
