300 Ultra Mag Factory Load

Anyone know what powder Remington uses in their factory loads?

most factories use what is known as "married powders" or "duplex" loads. They are a combiniation, derived from very extensive labratory testing, that produces a target pressure/velocity.

I will say that factory RUM loads are rather low, hence the claims by the naysayers that the RUM gains little over the belted mags, when in fact, a good handload will walk well beyond the factory stated data.

If you want to run 165-180gr pills, then look at RL22 and H4831sc. For 200gr loads, the H1000 and RL25 work well, and H1000, RL25 and in some rifles Retumbo are the 210-240gr powders.

I was wanting to work up a load for the 200gr. accubonds. I like what Ive heard about these bullets so far. I have a supply of RL25, H870, and H1000. I have yet to try Retumbo or Accurate 8700.

I shot the 200gr matchking with H1000 for 600 and 1000yd matches and it was a great combination. My load was 88gr's but you will need to start lower and work up looking for best accuracy and watching for pressure signs.
