I own two combination rifle/shotguns chambered in 16 gauge and 9.3x72R and I have read in the forum that 9.3.74R cartrige is a lot more powerful. I have two questions........... Is this correct and if it is correct is it possible for a qualified gunsmith to change my 9.3x72R to 9.3x74R ????????????

Hello the 9.3 X 74 is on par with the power of a 375 H&H however for the most part the 9.3 X72 was a black powder vintage cartridge and even when loaded with smokeless powder. They are loaded to a MUCH LOWER pressure. I don't think any gunsmith in his right mind would take on the job of rechambering your 9.3X72.That was built for low pressure loads Your Mileage may vary.
