Forster Press

CHAIRMAKERCHAIRMAKER Member Posts: 131 ✭✭✭
Just got a new Forster Coax press and have loaded a few rounds on it. It seems very smooth and powerful. Any opinions or experience with the Forster? Does anyone know how the optional primer feeder works? I don't have one yet, and the guy at Cabelas' couldn't describe it to me. Is it a manual swing-arm type, or does it work automatically with the movement of the press? Thanks

You set each primer manually with the pull of the handle. I load .30-06 and .308. It is impossible to set a "high" primer with this press.

    Chairmaker,
I picked up a used Co-ax in Anchorage back in the 60's and been trying to wear it out ever since. Strong, smooth, beautifully made. No slower or faster than any other single stage press though I do enjoy being able to just snap the dies in and out and not having to keep track of a dozen or more shell holders. For priming I prefer the Hornady hand held unit, but the Co-ax primer will certainly work.
    A beutiful unit.
