Lake City .223 Rem Brass IN STOCK at Grafs

In January it was announced that Graf & Sons was offering Federal Brand Lake City .223 Brass. This is quality brass and the feedback has been very positive. In fact, the .223 brass was so popular, supplies ran short. Now Graf's is showing plenty of Lake City .223 brass in inventory. The price is just $19.99 per hundred or $94.95 for 500.

Remember that these prices INCLUDE freight. Graf's does charge retail customers a single $4.50 handling charge per order. Prepaid shipping is offered to the 48 states via ground only, excluding target loads. Customers pay actual freight for express shipping and/or for Alaska or Hawaii orders.

By the thousand that is 18 1/2 cents per round.

That is remarkably sad such a price is worth mentioning as anything but outrageous.

But, that sort of escalation is prevalent in all brass prices today.

Fortunately I still have plenty to load and will not be leaving any at the range.
I use to use a brass catcher for 223 when I had my own range to keep from mowing the brass instead of the grass.
I pulled it from the shed and started taking it to the range.

    How high will prices go???

    Wulfmann,

I posted it not because it was a good price but because it was Lake City and available for sale. The forums get asked on multiple occasions as to where and how much .223 brass is so I thought I would post this as information only. Here are some others for comparison:

Lock, Stock and Barrel has once fired military:

    BULK MILITARY 223 BRASS (1000ct)

    BULK MILITARY 223 BRASS (1000ct)
    Item Number : LSBM223
    Unit Price: $116.95
    In Stock
    Quantity

    Detailed Description

223 brass (per 1000 rounds). This brass is ready to reload. We don't want you to think that every piece of brass is perfect. This is not new unprimed brass. This was fired military brass that has been full length resized, decapped, the military primer pocket crimp removed, trimmed to length, tumbled and cleaned.

    Midway lists Remington:

Remington Brass 223 Remington Box of 1000
    Product #: 152934
    Status: Available
    Our Price: $195.99

All of the other brands are significantly higher.

I have pared down my competition schedule so I have only one major invitational competition to shoot this year. I was adding up the approximate costs the other night and I was staggered! With the cost of fuel rising on a daily basis, custom made brass and bullets that I'm shooting and food while I'm getting there and back and staying for 4 days (we're all camping) it's nearly enough to make me change my mind! The local or nearly local shoots aren't too bad but they are still more expensive than last year.

    Best.

Up to a year ago I picked up, cleaned, bagged and took 223 to the gun show (where I have a table) I literally gave it away to people I knew or if they bought other brass (I use to sell once fired 308-3006 270 etc for 4-5cents )

My statement was reflecting the huge spike and not meant to suggest your posting it to advise was in any way wrong.

I now sell 223 and don't give it away but I still only ask 2-5 cents each for once fired depending on HS.
Sold every last one at the last show but the above "new" prices indicate I am selling it way too cheap.
