?Lessmoke? Question

mowartmowart Member Posts: 1,392 ✭✭✭✭✭
I was told that when the smokeless 22 LR first came out, there were occasional problems with full ignition. So they created a powder composed of a mixture of BP and smokeless, trade name Lessmoke. It was made up until the late 1940s. Some .22 LR were loaded with this. My question is how were the pressures and projectile ballistics? My guess is that the BP caused max pressure to be reached earlier. Does anyone know?

One of the last of the breed of Lesmok .22 ammo, Remington Tackhole Outdoor Match was listed at 1070 fps, same as their Dewar Cup Kleenbore smokeless target load. Standard quality standard velocity was 1100 fps. I haven't a clue as to chamber pressure or pressure curve.
