bullet and powder recommendations 22-250

Savage model 10 Predator, 22" bbl, 1 in 12 twist.
What weight of bullet should be best for that barrel as well as what powder to push it? I'm not getting the results I think I should with 55 gr. Nosler BTs or 55 gr. Hornady V-Max with either Varget or H380 so far. Might also be a copper fouling problem. I'm working on that now.

    Try a box of 55 grain Berger flat based bullets. You might be very surprised by the difference, I was. Make sure the barrel is clean and free from fouling. Shoot a couple of load ladders with the FB bullets and see if there is improvement. I cut group sizes in half by switching to Berger 55 grain bullets over Nosler BT's.

    I LOAD 55GR VMAX WITH 39GRS OF H380

    It shoots good for me and the powder meters better than water in all powder droppers

    I found that in my old Rem.mod 700 that the best for it was a 52 gr HPBT with 42.0 of H414 set to a lenth of 2.35 . The 414 drops real nice and fills the case to the top, give it a couple taps to settle it and your good to go. My new Rem. is not as good a shooter as the old one was or else it needs a new load worked up.Each gun is different so your Savage may or may not like them but some of my friends have Win.,Savage,ect and for the most part they all shoot very well with that load.

    I use 55gr VMAX and 38.9gr of W760 with Fed 215 primer.

    My Savage 110 shoots between 1/4 and 1/2 inch at 100. On a calm day it will stay under 1.5 at 300 and under 2.5 at 400.

    Hornady 53 grain match hp with as much imr 4895 as you are comfortable with. That was my standard load for many years and it was extremely good on coyotes.

    Try 34.0 of IMR 4895 and the 52 grain Speer HP. The Bergers are excellent bullets though pricey. I also use 39.5 of WW 760 and a Sierra 55 gr. BTHP #1390.

    ++++1

    I shoot the Berger 55gr Varmints in my Savage 12FV and they shoot nice, the cool thing is I haven't come off my start loads yet![:D] I order a poop load off of Widener's Supply for a little over $18 a box. It looks like they are wanting $20 now, but they got 10 in stock,

    Here is a pic of my first load of the 55grMEF, it is 34.0gr Re15. The inside diameter of the target center is 2" for reference. And yes this is a 5 shot group.

    I have also had good luck with a start load with Midway Dogtown 55gr SP. My start load was 32.6gr of Benchmark. Here is another start load 5 shot group.

    As you can see by the flyers I was not in perfect composure that day and have been dying to find the time to expand beyond a start load.
