Win .223 64 Grain Powerpoint Question

Howdy
Awhile back, a friend gave me some old Win 64 grain PP bullets. These bullets have a channelure, flat base and weigh about 67 grains on my powder scale.
At the last local gunshow, I bought a bag of 100 for $$$$$19 bucks !!!! These bullets are different. No channelure, bevel on base and weigh 64 grains on the money.
Is this a manufacture's change or did my pal make a mistake? Are there 2 models of Win 64 gr PP's ???
Any ideas appreciated......also, the older bullets are a bit longer, but forgot by how much....guess the ogive is a bit different too, because the OAL as measured off the lands is going to be different.
Can anyone shed any light on what I have ???
Thanks
Pete/MS

I think remington has a patent on the "power point" name an they liked to use cannelures. My winchester 64gr's don't have a cannelure but a cannelure tool can be had by anyone to put cannelures on any bullet.
