Also a book by Colonel Townsend Whelen "Why Not Load Your Own" would be great for begining reloaders. It's a wonderful library addition as well as a wealth of information and reference. Published years ago, I thing they're still in print. Most of the present day manuals have borrowed from it.

I also liked Lyman's 48th reloading handbook. ABC's is a good one as well.

I started out on Sierra manuals. Most any of the major bullet makers are good. There's a lot of information in the front of them. The one biggest rule you need to follow is start low and work up.

Also, only have one box of bullets out and one type(can) of powder out. It's too easy to mix stuff up so keep the non-used stuff in your storage section. Same with primers. And, put it away as soon as you are done with that batch. Good habits to keep.

I started out with the ABC's and the Speer book.

Get a Nosler and Hornady book(set of 2) as well. They're fantastic.

Get as many as you can. info in most will differ.

If I find one I dont have at the book store or flea market I pick it up. Some times I go through all of them just to find that one load.

Get one for the powder and one for the bullets you are useing.

Buy several and read them. That way you pick up on things that are in one manual and not the other.

ABCs is a great starter- any others than you find are good for further eduation. For LOAD data, use the net to surf the websites for BULLET and POWDER makers. Like scuba and skydiving, don't do this if you suffer from attention deficit disorder. Maintain order in your loading process- one bullet, one powder, one primer, one caliber out on the bench at a time. Had a friend that was loading 45 Colt, and found a 9mm case inside a primed Colt case. Don't know what would have happened if he had loaded and fired that one, but we BOTH learned a lesson from that experience.

I am new to reloading and the Lee manual has been very in getting me up to speed quickly. I am about to go through and read it again in hopes to have more context now on the more technical data provided.

Another vote for the Lee manual but buy a bunch of different ones as 427chevelle sugested
