Thanks for that post! It was interesting to read what could be done with the round and how much you can get out of it in velocities. Interesting note though too about the GS bullets and velocities attained with the 'pressure ring' bullets vs. bullets with standard barrel bodies.
After evaluating for myself the best ballistics between that and the 6.5 Grendel, I personally have decided to go with the Grendel. The thing I like about the grendel is it gets decent velocity and better ballistics with standard weights in 6.5mm. With the 6.8 mm everything is kind of on the bottom end for weight and therefore ballistic ability. At least that is how I read the numbers. However, if the military decided to adopt this round I wouldn't be at all sad as I feel we have needed a round with more power than the 5.56 for a long time.
