Surplus Powder Question

hdcolt51hdcolt51 Member Posts: 4,585 ✭✭✭
I have about 15lbs of WC 852 surplus powder would it be a decent powder to use for loading 308 to shoot in my DPMS AR? Also what is the website for military reloading specs. Thanks
My lot # is 47287. Where would I find loading information?

On My lot # of WC852 It says to use H380 data but on med.capasity cases it seams to take about 4gr.moore to = the same load.NO DON'T just jump in and try that,Don't take my word for it. but with my lot that is what I hade to do.But it seems to be a nice powder.Just go up slow and watch preasures close.I haven't found data on WC852 but have used 16lb.

My lot says it will burn like 414 but I find it is slower still, like 4831.

Where I've found it to be wonderful is in small neck large body cases like the 7.62X54R russian, and in basically filling the case to the neck in 308 class guns.

This woudl all depend on the burn rate of your batch. I'd start with 4895 data and work up, preferably with a chronograph.
