17 mach 2 ammo ???

hello
does anyone have ideas on the ammo and accuracy from different rifles and manufactures of 17hm2 ammo. i just converted my 10/22 and have to look at getting some ammo but which one?
i have a case of eley but have not shot any yet. my 10/22 is converted and has the heavy handle also but still have not fired it. is there any break in period or procedure that i should do for maxium accuracy?
thanks fm

They do like to be kept clean, and I ended up with CCI's as the best in my 26 inch Contender
    rifle.
The Eley's seemed to have a different smell to them, and didn't do so well as far as accuracy went, but you'll find out they are all different in there likes.. Buy a few of whatever is available in your area and shoot em up, and see what happens......
Don't worry about the break in to much, but clean it really good in between each different box of ammo when you test them...

mrbruce is right on about different rifles liking different ammo. Matter of fact all I shoot is the Eley. I have a NEF Sportster single shot and it absolutly loves Eley. The "smell" he is refering to is the Eley Prime system. Eley uses a different priming mix in most of their ammo to reduce powder fouling. It works, Shot 5rds of Hornady 17HM2 clean the barrel and the shoot 5rds of Eley, you will notice a difference.

Local availablity of ammo is also a big kicker as well. Most of your sporting good stores(atleast around here) only carry Hornady ammo for it.
