Heavy .44 bullets

Anyone have experience with bullets over 245 grains in the 44 mag? How is the trajectory and accuracy at 100 yards compared to the Keith style? I've been thinking about getting a mold for a heavier bullet to shoot from my Encore 44 mag. barrel.

I used to shoot a 310 gr out of my Ruger Super Blackhawk years ago, accuracy was great but it was sort of like a mortar round, just barely enough elevation to reach out to 200 meters.

Deer at 50 to 75 yards do not appreciate Hornady 265 grain bullets at all when delivered by Redhawk Express. The only cast experience I have is shooting a 260 grain gas checked bullet sized to .430 that was given to me. I do not know the mold or maker but it shot great on paper only, no game reports on this one. I just plinked with (I THINK!) around 8 GR Unique. Do not use, or quote me on the powder charge, as this was about 25 years ago.

Give SSK Industries a call, he's just North and a bit East of you, between him and his buddy Larry they have shot up tons of heavy hard cast 44 Mags upwards of 300 grains...
