Lapua data needed

bpostbpost Member Posts: 32,669 ✭✭✭✭
I have a 2 pound jug of N133. I can't find useful data for using it.

I have cast lead and jacketed bullets available for the following:
1) 30-06
2) .375 H&H Mag.
3) 6MM BR (8-twist)
4) 22BR
5) 44 Mag

Can anyone help with any useful data for any of these calibers using N-133?

Thanks!
Bruce

    bpost1958,

    N133
A choice of many bench rest and standard rifle shooters
who are using 6 mm PPC. Used also in many loads of .222
Remington, .223 Remington and as well in other applications
where a relatively fast burning powder is needed, like in .45-
70 Government. Similarly burning powders are Norma 201,
    Hodgdon H335 and Vectan SP10.

V V N-133 is THE powder of choice for the 6PCC target cartridge. The shipment from Lapua is usually sold within weeks of its arrival.

This is the link to the Lapua/VihtaVuori reloading data:

N133 will be terrific with the .22 BR and the 6mm BR cartridge.

The .375 H&H can use this powder with the lighter bullets such as the 225 gr. Hornady Spitzer or the 235 gr. Speer SSP. These will be approximately 90% loads and perform great especially in shorter barrels.

For the .30-06 again the lighter bullets will be the solution. The 125 gr. Sierra and the Nosler BT would be good for varmint shooting and you can go all the way up to the 147 gr. FMJs for military loads or the 150 gr. Sierra SP and Noslers for light hunting loads. I've used some of the heavier 180 gr. bullets in a round nose shape which will work at nearly a 90% load.

One step up to the .35 Whelen gets you the heavier bullets and nearly full cases with good performance.

This powder will really shine in the large caliber, 2.5" belted cases such as the .416 Taylor or the .458 Win. Mag. You get great accuracy with full cases when you use the heavy bullets.

    Best.

Thanks for the link, I down loaded and printed the data.

Do you possibly have any data for the 22BR with 52 grain FB bullets?? It is not listed in the Lapua data.

I sure would like to try some 133 with a 250 cast lead gas-check bullet in the 375 H&H. I may have to extrapolate data from H-335 or even 4198 to find a load.....That "guessing a load" is pretty scary stuff to me!

    bpost1958,

One of my accuracy nodes is at 28.5 grains loaded to an OAL of 2.000" as opposed to 2.200". This is with the Berger 52 gr. FB bullets.

    Best.
