9mm load data

shoff14shoff14 Member Posts: 11,994 ✭✭✭
I need some load data for 9mm luger.

700x powder with 125 grain LRN.

Hodgden has load data for a 125 LCN, which should be close but is the OAL different?

Was wondering if anyone loaded 147gr JHP's for the 9mm ?
I was loading 125gr bullets using Win 231 , but none of my manuals have a load listed with 231 and a 147gr bullet . If I need to pick up a different type of powder , I will . I was thinking of Win WAP , but was hoping someone could give some advice on a powder , if there is no data for Win 231.
I had 2000 125gr JHP's ordered from " Powder Valley " but they are out of stock , got tired of waiting so I ordered the 147gr JHP's
Bullets are Zero brand , the 125's shot nice , hope the 147's shoot just as well [B)]
I'll be shooting them out of a S&W 5906 or my Sigma .
Thank Ya Kindly for any input [8)]

You should be fine with the data for LCN. Start at the LCN start load and work up. As LCN is lead, conical nose, it will be very similar in profile to a lead round nose.

I use 700X in my 9mm, but with FMJ's. I have had good results with it.

I shot these loads today. 4.0 grains of 700x with 125grain LRN and got FTE.

I am wondering if my OAL length is to long.

So what was your OAL? and how did you come up with 4.0gr 700X?

That should say 3.0 grains of 700x

1.125" and Hodgodon says 2.9 to 3.4 for a LCN so thats the data I went with.

Case wasn't getting stuck in the chamber, it was getting caught by the slide coming back forward. Pressures looked good. I was looking on the XD forum, and it seems that OAL needs to be on the shorter side for the XD's.

This was a disapointment for me though. I was hoping they would work good. First failure to do anything with my XD's, but I guess that is to be expected starting loading.

Try loading 3.5grs. Your OAL is OK. If the slide is catching the ejected brass the load is not hot enough.
    My book shows 3.3to4.0grs. 700X
