A Great day at the range

Went to the range to day for load work up and setting sights on a couple of rifles. 15 degrees, no wind and bright sunshine.
My 9 year was right next to me with his single shot .22 just banging away at deer target at 50 yards. He also tries to catch the brass as it comes out of my 742![:D]
I am trying IMR 4064 for my 22-250. Seems it works pretty well. PP brass, Fed 210, Sierra 55gr HPBT and 2.320 OAL. Range: 100yds.
34.2gr .76"
34.5gr .63"
34.8gr 1.47" (.38" without the flyer...my fault)
35.1gr .93"
35.4gr .28 (a perfect cloverleaf, I think I'll load a few more of these for further testing)
I replaced the front sight on my Swede Mauser so I could bring down the POI and ended up having to file the new one to bring it up to my POA. It is now about 1" high at 100 yards. 2" groups at 100 yards with 49 year old eyes. I'm impressed. Now that I have that done, I shoot the loads I have worked up for that one, too.
I also sighted in my 6mm Rem 742. 2" groups at 100 yards off a bench. About what I expected. I only use it for still hunting so, I'll probably never get a shot over 50 yards with it anyway.
Lastly, since our ML season is long over, I shot it and gave it the end of the year cleaning.
All in all, a great day. Next weekend, I'll take my other son (if the weather allows) and let him kill some balloons or clays.
