Any info on the .243 wsm cartridge? I can not find it in any of my reload manuals. I got a couple of cartridges in a lot of misc reload supplies.
Thanks

Phil

    pphillips,

I guess my question is, are you sure it's a .243 WSM and not a .243 WSSM? The .243 WSSM is a factory cartridge and the .243 on the WSM case would be a wildcat with a huge capacity of 79 grains approximately.

The WSSM will be in the current reloading manuals but if you can't find one of those, any of the powder manufacturers and the WSSMZONE will have some data. Being a wildcat, the .243 WSM will have to be developed and loads worked up from data based on cartridges with similar case capacity.

    Best.

It is probably the WSSM. I have not heard of a 243WSM over there. Not to say that it hasn't been done. Talk about over bore!

There is a guy there that is making a 204WSSM custom job. He's trying to get to the magic "5000fps".

The WSSMs are listed in the latest Speer manuals but, not in the Sierra manual.
