.41 action express

pphillipspphillips Member Posts: 186 ✭✭✭
Any info on a .41 action express? I bought some .41 bullets cheap and e-mailed speer for reload data to use them in my .41 magnum. They * me a recommended load and said the bullets were originally made for varmints and the .41 action express.
Thanks

Phil

Do you own a 41 AE? I have a Tanfaglio with a 9mm and 41AE barrel that I load for. The factory loads were 170hp and 200fmj. I usually use the 170gr Sierra hp.

I was told by speer that the 180 grain jacketed hollow points were designed for the .41 action express. The bullets have a very deep hollow point and were designed to cause maximum tissue damage. I had never heard of the action express, so I asked the question. Apparently it is not a very popular caliber.
    Thanks for the reply.

I was a very popular NEW round in the late 80's early 90's. It was then about what the .357 Sig is today. It was quickly displaced by the .40 S&W round.

Here is a bit of info on it, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.41_Action_Express
