USAC reloadable center fire ammo w/plastic cases

toadtowntoadtown Member Posts: 11 ✭✭
I was cleaning up my safe and ran across a box of 6 sample USAC 38 special reloadable center fire cartridges. These are in a little red white and blue box with a paper insert dated 2-85.

These cases are plastic.

Does anyone know anything about these rounds or this company?

That outfit is long out of business. They were originally intended as a low cost practice round. To load them requires a special bullet that has a groove at the base that snaps into the case.

my dad had some of them. Just reloaded with primer only and it used a plastic bullet. Man for powder only it would send that plastic bullet half way through the phone book.

    HK and DCS
You guys are thinking o something else (indoor practie "cartridges"). The item the OP is talking about iw/was a full power cartridge that was reloadable with no tools but required a jaketed bullet with a grooved base to snap into the case. See the ivory color round in the very top row?
