RCBS Chargemaster combo WINS

I just bought the RCBS Chargemaster Combo powder scale and I have to say without a doubt,it is the best digital powder scale to buy. I recently owned a Lyman DPS 1200 111 and before that I had the 1200 dps 11. The RCBS wins by a long shot! There is no 1/2 hour warm up time with the RCBS. Turn it on, calibrate the scale and you are off and running. The RCBS spits out the powder charge a little quicker than the Lyman and it seems to be a lot more stable than the Lyman also. By that I mean " with the Lyman the pan would fill to the amount wanted but when you opened the clear hood, removed it and replaced it back on the scale, it would always read a different weight. Clean up is a snap with the RCBS. If I left powder in the Lyman for a couple of days it would eat away at the plastic parts. Lyman FREE of charge replaced parts that were affected by this for me though and after that I always cleaned up right after using. I have not left powder in the RCBS yet. I replaced the pan that came with the RCBS with a brass pan and don't have any static problems now. The RCBS has much less memory for storing loads but that does not bother me. The RCBS price is about $50.00 higher than the Lyman but in my opinion well worth it. In my years here on GB forums I always like to post a heads up on good and bad experience with things and now here is my .02 worth on digital powder scales between RCBS and Lyman.

Good review, in both senses of the word.

If you were a gun writer, you'd now be accused of being in their pocket, using their ad copy as your story, etc. Since you aren't a gun writer (I assume), you must be honest. Thanks!
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I am not a writer. It is my opinion of the best of the two in my own words. Usually posts like this on GB are about one product or another and rarely a comparison of two brands. One other tip that I can give is my opinion for Dillon vibrators over Lyman. I have owned both brands and Dillon by far is the superior product between the two. The most noticeable difference is how quiet the Dillon runs. The design of the tub is easier to use without making a mess all over the place on the Dillon also. The Dillon cost is higher than the Lyman which reinforces my thought of (You get what you pay for.)
