Twist rate for 175 SMK in 308

I've been shooting M1's (1:10 twist) in 308 for a while so I have lots of componets, espeically 175g bullets.
I want to geta scoped bolt rifle in 308 for hunting and targets at 600. I've been looking at the Remington 700s and most have a 1:12 twist barrel. Is that twist fast enough for the 175?
Any opinions about the VTR, SPS and Traget Tactical models or other manufactures?
What's the best bang for the buck on mounts, rings and scope? Thanks

In standard .308 Win. target loads the 175 gr. Sierra MK only requires a 1:13" twist. The 1:12" twist will stabilize the 190 gr. Sierra MK. Twist rate is based on the bullet length not the weight. In essence, the VLD Match bullets will be longer than the standard Spitzer hunting bullets of the same weight.
Best.
