Precision dies, competition dies or benchrest dies are different names used by manufactures to describe their best grade of dies. These dies hold the case in a tighter chamber to better align the case neck with the bullet. Most have a micrometer adjustable seating stem that allows precise bullet seating to .001 inch. The competition sizing dies usually give a minimum of sizing and more precise neck alignment to maintain better concentricity. All this leads to more accurate reloads. They are more expensive and not needed by the casual reloader. Serious accuracy buffs swear by them. Bob
