quality dies

I am going to reload 243 for my son's Rem. 700. All i have reloaded so far has been pistol. Is there a difference in rifle dies, and quality? My brother in-law says Hornady makes a great set. He shoots competively. Is RCBS, Redding, Lyman, Pacific, Hornady, etc.. is there a distinct difference? I notice some cost more than others. Your opinion is appreciated.

I am going to begin loading .40 S&W, and .380 acp. All my old equipment, including all my dies are RCBS. Since I need 2 sets of dies, I am considering Lee Dies just because of price. Can anybody out there convince me that I would be better off paying the extra money and staying with RCBS? Thanks!

I use Lee 4 die sets to do 40S&W and 45acp. For the price they work great for me.

I've not noticed a difference in quality of ammo loaded on Lee, RCBS, Hornady, or Lyman, all on my bench. I say go for the cheapest (I only got the others as I got them used at a show cheap)

unless you are a brenchrest shooter lee dies work as well as any other.

Well for pistol it has been worth it to me to switch to the Hornady TiN dies since they feel much smoother to me. I had some carbide RCBS dies but after trying the Hornady dies I got rid of all my carbides.
