250gr .45ACP ?

EhlerDaveEhlerDave Member Posts: 5,158 ✭✭
Does anyone have loading data for a 250gr bullet in the 45 ACP ? I have Bullseye, Unique and 231 powders on hand. Will this bullet powder caliber work out?

I have several loading books but the ones that go over 230 gr skip to a 260gr bullet.

I just found a few of the bullets in a box and was going to load them up so my Dad can shoot them.

Any help would be great, David.
Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.

You will be safe to use the 260gr load info for the 250gr bullet IF the bullets are the same type. Of course DON"T start with a max load, work up from mid-range or lower, as I don't know the condition of your firearm.

    Thanks for the reply.

I think I will just get some 230gr XTP's and load them.

    They are .452

I will just shoot them out of a BP rifle and get some that are better suited for the gun.

Dave the Speer manual I have has a load for a 45acp 260gr JHP bullet.the manual "calls"it a revolver bullet....it warns to check feed capability to see if the round will function in the gun....I think you have the right idea. reloader44mag.

Dave, I sent you an E-Mail with the loads one of my favorite manuals had for 250 grain ACP loads. Didn't want to publish copyrighted materials/data here.

The usual Disclaimers apply: If you use those loads/data, you assume all liability, and agree to indemnify and hold me harmless, and the manual publisher and seller, printer, paper maker, all internet conduits and owners thereof who carried this data, and anyone who has ever breathed air on this planet since it was made. You further are agreeing to blame only the Devil, and that any remedies you might seek will have to come from him.
