Lee Powder Measure

I have a Redding and a Hornady powder measure but I need one that will do a better job throwing light charges of Bullseye and Unique.
Is the little $20 Lee as good as the reviews say it is?

I have no experience with the Lee but I use the Hornady with the pistol drum in it and it works very well for light charges.

Thanks Ambrose, I didn`t think about changing drums. I`ll check with Hornady to see if they have different drums for my measure.

Which lee? The drum type perfect powder measure, or the auto-disc?

I use a RCBS Little Dandy for small powder charges. I got mine off NAZebay. They have them most of the time, and rotors for them.
Also keep checking the auction side, one like new went for $30 with 3 rotors and other things.

I find that the perfect powder measure does great with stick powder, leaks ball powders a bit... bullseye is right on the border. It works fine in mine but could see it leaking/binding.

To directly answer your question - Yes. I have one and it is very consistent in throwing loads in the 4 gram range. It does leak the small ball powder I have for my M1 Carbine.

I just got a Lee perfect powder measure and it is excellant. It was right on the money after 100 charges for my 45acp. Just read the instructions when new to get the static out of it. Well worth the small price.

Mine works very well with ball and extruded powder. Does great with IMR 4895.

Yes! mine works very well everything I feed it, including unique.

last time i used my lee measure on a pro 1000 press it skipped a charge, now it sets in the draw next to some other crap items.

i use 2 RCBS ones now one with the large throw one with the small, the small works for 380s when i load them

I use a Lee Perfect along with a Pact Digital, and the Lee is so accurate I don't use the digital much anymore. But I also have a Lee Disk on a Lee 1000, and it is not near as "bullet proof." Stick with the Perfect, but check every once and a while with a good scale.

I use the little Lee powder thrower for all of my pistol rounds[:)]. I think it works just fine.
