Old RCBS progressive 45 ACP Autoloader?

osofineosofine Member Posts: 7 ✭✭
I have acquired 2 old - maybe 16-20 yr old RCBS presses that are set up like the Grand but are for 45 & 38 special. They have 4 stages (not rotary, but left to right with no shell holders) and it has a tube that is about 20" x 2" that holds 4 columns of brass that autofeed, automatic primer feed & powder tube. It has the same shaped handle on the right size as the Grand.
It is really a cool press, but I can't find out a thing about them. I was looking for a manual for it and RCBS has nothing. None of the auction sites have anything. Did it have a name? I think they were probably expensive and they only made them for a short time.

    osofine,

It sounds like the RCBS Green Machine. Not one of RCBS's better ideas and execution.

Here is a thread with some information from a couple of months ago:

    http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=368577&SearchTerms=green,machine

There is a link to the RCBS .pdf brochure in my post.

You can also use the 'Search' button at the top right of the page using the search term 'green machine' to get the other threads available.

C&H also had one named the AutoChamp and Posness Warren still has the Metallic II.

    Best.

Thank you so much for the link. The parts list is perfect-o! I appreciate it so much. I think this is a really neat machine and I can't believe how many rounds I load so quickly and smoothly! Why on earth did they quit making it? Too expensive to produce? Too many parts? Sure is smooth! Thanks again![:D]

They work pretty good as long as the adjustments stay put [V] Which is what happened to one a friend had. It went down the road quickly.
