I have created this load for some of my clients and the feedback I get is basically "Holy Crap!!!!" [:D] They seem to like it. Accurate and deadly.

    idahordnk,

I've shot the Berger 210 VLD along with the JLK, Lapua, Hornady, Sierra, GS Custom and LiMa Wiederladetechnik Custom.

All of the barrels that I test are from custom makers with rifling styles slightly different from the standard button or cut-rifled barrels so it might be an unfair comparison to factory barrels and performance. All of the VLDs were extremely accurate when the load was developed for the optimum performance with the various bullets. I am currently shooting more Bergers than any other brand but that doesn't mean that you can't get similar performance from the others. My ultra long range rifles are rifled for using Lutz Moeller and GS Custom LR bullets. These will not perform in barrels with standard rifling due to the designs, materials and length.

For general purpose long range accuracy though, the Berger 210 and the JKL 210 are superb. Don't forget to try the Hornady 208's either, you might be surprised.

    Best.

Well Im not looking for a ultra long range rifle or maybe i am by alot of peoples standard im trying to build my rem 700 to be an accurate up to 1000 tops game rifle. The load we worked up now is awesome and I have taken 2 cow elk at 600+. It is a swift sirrocco 180 grain bullet and I thought it performed extremely well(beyond 300, not so good at a closer range shot, tracked those ones a while before they went down) out of my gun after I had the trigger done and the gun bedded. 1/2 in groups at a 100. But the more I read about these Berger bullets the more intrigued I become, just comparing the coefficients to start with. NoNonsense I posted this question in reply to your answer in the Experts forum but just to make sure my thinking is correct is 1:10 faster than 1:12? thanks for the help and insight To by the way[:D]

    idahordnk,

Yes, the 1:10" twist rate is faster than the 1:12" twist. The smaller the number, the faster the twist. Think of it as the bullet completing one revolution in either 12" or 10".

    Best.

RL25, retumbo, US869, H1000, N170 etc and you will likely find quite a few sweet spots. I ran 200gr SMK's over H1000 as my first load for 1000yds and it worked wonderfully.

    here's mine
