    alan1342,

My list of .243 or 6mm cartridges contains 38 specific cartridges, all with potentially different loads. It would be most helpful if you told us which cartridge you're are asking about.

    Best.

    alan1342,

I'm going to presume you mean a 6mm Rem. (not Rem BR) as it commonly goes by only the 6mm. As nn posted there are a bunch of them out there, so make sure this is the want before you take any of this advice.

You can use H4895 (and IMR), IMR4064, Varget, H4350 (and IMR), H4831 (and IMR) Re-15, Re-17, Re-19, VV N140, N150 and N160. Anything slower or faster will be out of the useable case range for this cartridge.

I've personally come to load about 49.5 gr. of H4350 behind the few 70 gr. bullets I load for that caliber. They are pretty accurate and it's like laser shooting with them. they run out at over 3500 fps.

For the 100 gr. I use 44.5 gr. of H4350 with the bullets pushed into the lands. Those run around 3125 fps.

With both of those powder/bullet combo's the starting load will run 4 grains below what I gave you. The 70 gr. is listed as under max and the 100 gr. is listed as .5 over. So work up carefully!

    -hope that helps.

    alan1342,

These loads are from the Nosler Reloading pages on their website:

    http://www.nosler.com/index.php?p=15&b=6mm&s=183

    http://www.nosler.com/index.php?p=15&b=6mm&s=204

The 70 gr. bullet creates a distortion because of the disparity between the case volume and the lightweight bullet. The best results I got were from the Ramshot Hunter powder and V V N-550.

The 100 gr. Partition is one of my all-time favorite combinations with this cartridge. I use both AA-XMR-3100 and IMR-4831 regularly. The IMR is probably the better powder in my rifles.

    Best.
