Undersize die?

lfnellfnel Member Posts: 3 ✭✭
I just picked up a set of Pacific Durachrome dies. They're old but in good shape and really look to be quality. Behind the stamping "243 win sizer" is the letter "B". What does that letter "B" stand for? Could it be, "tight" or "undersize" die. I'm sure having trouble getting cases into the die or getting them out if I do brute-force them in! Proper lubrication is not the problem.

Call Hornady as they bought out Pacific. The number is 800-338-3220 for customer service.

I haven't called Hornady yet but did send their customer service department an e-mail several days ago but have not heard back.

I took the opportunity and had a friend run through his size die, RCBS I think, a couple of the 243 cases that are giving trouble with my old Pacific "B" dies. No problem at all. I've concluded that the sizing problem I'm having lies in the old Pacific "B" dies and that the "B" must stand for undersize base. Anybody need a set of undersize dies?
