Bullseye shooter.

shooteroneshooterone Member Posts: 139 ✭✭✭
Shooting one hand at 25yds. with 38sp. I keep shooting to the left. I am right handed. They call this "snatching a 10 pointer". I know what I am doing wrong, but how do I stop this problem. Can any of you bullseye shooters give me any advice on this? Any words of wisdom will help. Thanks.

Try useing the center pad of your finger and pull straight back. You are pushing the gun left.

Shots hitting to the left is a common occurrence with a handgun when incorrect trigger finger technique is used. The tendency is to not pull the trigger straight back but to push to the left when the finger is not positioned on the trigger properly. Practice using the soft pad of the finger and pulling straight back.

Also you can try this; have someone load your gun for you at the firing point, and not tell you if it is a live round or an empty chamber. When you fire the empty chamber you will be able to see where the gun moves, it shows your errors. Training yourself to break the trigger clean without gun movement will help a lot.

B post has the right idea load cylinder with 3 live rounds and the other with empty cases without looking move the cylinder and then close Now you have a pistol with some live and some empty rounds now shoot at target. Another drill is turn target around and now shoot at center mass of blank paper being you cant see the black target you will not try to snatch the trigger.
