Need advice on lubing and sizing

We've got two star sizer lubers that work great but I'm thinking about getting another set-up for .40 S&W and can't find one. Has any one used the LEE alox luber sizer? How do you lube with alox? I'd like to find a cheaper alternative to buying another sizer luber. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Perryshooter has put about a million miles on Star equipment, he may be able to steer you in the right direction. Send him an email and see if he can make any suggestions.

The Lee sizer is a push-through design, needing no nose punches. It comes with the shellholder punch, sizer, bullet catch jar (and storage container) plus a bottle of Lee Liquid Alox. LLA is a tumble lube. You put your bullets in a jar or tub, dribble on a little -very little- LLA and swirl the bullets until they have a LIGHT coat. Spread on waxed paper and allow to dry overnight. If the bullets don't need sizing, you can load and shoot them at this point.

Or, you can then size them using the simple sizer. Tumble with a second coat of LLA and when dry, load and shoot. LLA is a terrific lube, and only a thin coat is needed to prevent leading completely. You can tumble-lube any style bullet with LLA.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Hello BPOST thanks for the plug . MR. wildeman The star luber. is now being made by MAGMA so you can get a die and punch for any caliber . I have use my star lubers for the past 35years and lubed over 250,000 rounds of 200 grain Bevel Base bullets for 45acp . I purchased unlubed bullets from a supplier that has closed up for 20+ years and bought 50,000 right before he closed up shop and used to cast my own with H&G moulds for the rest of the time. If you cant find Magma engineering EMAIL me via my profile and I will give you a contact. BTW if you use a straight punch and size nose first then you can lube bevel base bullets with out getting 3 small dots of lube on the base.

With proper bullet fit (1-2 thousandths over bore diameter) the Lee product will do just fine.
