anyone reload using their brass? mind you im just getting into reloading but it seems to be impossible for me to decap/resize their 223 brass. i got the case stuck once last week and the threads on the decapper stirpped out in the process of getting the stuck case out. called the local store up and they ordered the part for me and it came in today. i put the new piece in the die and using cabelas brand spray on resizing lube begin to deprime my brass. i followed the directions on the bottle. put a handfull of brass(mabye 15 pieces) in a box sprayed it shook the box around and sprayed it again. i waited a few minutes and put it in my rcbs single stage press and the 2nd damn case got stuck AGAIN. THE RIM PEALED RIGHT OFF OF IT. ive got the tools to fix the problem. but WTH is going on with this? the only thing i can think of is im using a lee collet(thats the piece that holds the case right?) and not rcbs and mabye its not holding onto the rim of the case good enough?
i decapped/resized mabye 100 rds of 308 and mabye 60 of 30/06 without a hitch. but this 223 brass is about to get sent to the scrap pile. fricking stuff is ticking me the hell off. [:(!][:(!][:(!] thanks for listening. rant over.

The brand of shellholder (not collet) shouldn't matter.

Is the case getting stuck at the top of the die or at the bottom? I mean I wonder if it is the inside of the neck that is holding up or the outside? Does it stick with the case fully up in the die or as you are pulling it out at the bottom?

Never used cabelas lube so I can't comment on it. But I'd try another brand. I like Lee's lube, STP engine treatment is good too. Imperial sizing wax is great but certainly overkill for your intended use. Make sure you're lubing the inside of the neck too.

ive also tried the rcbs lube that you put on the pad and rol around and same thing happened last time. the case got stuck when it was fully seated into the die.

Have you taken out the decapper and looked INSIDE the die? I had the same problem when I first started (with a donated set of 223 SB dies). I cleaned them out with degreaser and 0000 steel wool....problem solved.

    Hope this helps.

yes i took the decaper out and looked inside the die after i get the stuck case out. it looked a bit dirty from brass shavings from drilling and tapping the case to get it out. i took a few q-tips to it and it looks all shiney now. ive got some lake city brass coming in tomarrow so im gonna wait for them befor i try again.

Use Imperial case wax on the bottom 1/3 of the case and it won't get stuck.
Prvi takes some extra work the first time it is prepped.

Don't junk it. There are a number of us on here that would take it off your hands.
