BHN question - 45 colt

I am preparing to load for a single shot ( break open) 20 inch barrel
45 long colt in a H & R buffalo classic. I know I can safely shoot +p loads. I was hoping to shoot 250 grain lead. My questions are:
1) what BHN should I look for
2) would shooting a jacketed bullet be a better hunting choice for medium size game in the speed I am hoping to achieve - 1,300 to 1,400 fps
Thank you, Joe.

If you cast, Lee makes a great bullet mould for that round. It's their 452-255-RF. That's a plain base, but if you use their Liquid Alox tumble lube, it doesn't lead in my barrels.
Or, there's always jacketed.
